about

Years back, I thought I might actually be on the verge of success with music. I had an agent, who turned out to be, I assume, a fraud. I got music in a TV show without trying. Etc... All illusion of course. This song is about waiting for phone calls from "king makers." You know by Friday afternoon, that any big breaks are not happening that week. The way you know that no one works in Hollywood between mid Nov and the end of January.

lyrics

It’s Too Late It’s Friday

It’s too late, it’s Friday, they can’t touch me now
No more waitin’ for this week to turn around
No more waitin’ for phone calls that never come
It’s over ‘til next time around

I’ts too late to do much but kill some time
‘Cause nothin’ could happen outside nine-to-five
Another week is now over or fadin’ fast
It’s over ‘til next time….

I’m not talkin’ bout the dreams you said you had so long ago now
I’m talkin’ bout now
Only a fool would wait so long and never know what’s gonna happen
I’m talkin’ bout now

(ad-libbing or not: too late…)

It’s too late, it’s Friday, time is running out
It’s too late to find out what it’s all about
No more waiting for someone to give a damn
It’s over ‘til next time…

I’m not talkin’ bout the dreams you said you had so long ago now
I’m talkin’ bout now
Only a fool would wait so long and never know what’s gonna happen
I’m talkin’ bout now

(ad-libbing or not…too late/we run out of time)
