Take the Airplane Out of the Desk

from Hot Enough to Fry Your Dog's Brain by Scott Brookman

about

My favorite re-discovery in digitizing this cassette. I love this song. It's about building models as a kid, specifically airplanes and about the battles and the role of inept camouflaging that might occur. The desk referred to was an old school desk, the kind where the lid pops up and when closed its on a slant. We had one in our basement and that's where I kept my model stuff: paint, glue, etc.. Here and there this song sounds like an outtake from the Smiley Smile album to me. Nice use of silence and goofy harmonies. I could see performing this one again some time. I encourage cover versions!
