The Powerful Mr. Mullins

from Hot Enough to Fry Your Dog's Brain by Scott Brookman

/

about

Mr. Mullins lived at the end of the street in my pre-school years before we moved. There were two weird details about his yard: a cigar tree (look up if you've never seen one) and his shed out back to which he'd nailed the hides of squirrels he'd shot! Ghastly of course, but remarkable to me as a kid. This very long piece again takes us into murky, creepy lo-fi indie pop sort of like a bad XTC home demo. I like the opening chord and bass line.
